The Cloud in Love is the most famous fairy tale by the Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet. It was born from the poet's childhood memories (his grandmother used to tell young Nazim ancient stories) and from a passionate reading of his country's folk tales. Written in the mid-1950s, the collection (which includes The Cloud in Love) retains an intact and surprising beauty and clarity. The simplicity with which Hikmet narrates beautiful girls, funny peasants, cruel magicians, and cunning young men captivates and enchants, without losing the evocative and evocative power of the author's most beautiful poems. The idea of ​​setting the tale to music as the soundtrack for a ballet arose from the immense evocative power of this story. The music "describes" the colors of the fantastical places, the deeds and personalities of the individual characters of Hikmet's imagination, who through the dancers take human form. A story that transports the audience to the magical places of the fairy tale and perhaps allows adults to return to childhood for a while.
